The starting realm for the blood elf race, a very sizable and one of the oldest capitals in Azeroth. Eversong Woods was once home to the high elves of Quel'Thalas and the sacred Sunwell, the elves' source of power. Following the spread of the plague of undeath through Lordaeron and Quel'Thalas, Eversong Woods was left permanently scarred and the Sunwell corrupted, after the death knight Arthas used its mystical powers to resurrect the lich, Kel-Thuzad. The surviving high elves nicknamed themselves blood elves in honour of their fallen brethren and embarked on a mission to quench their thirst for a new source of magic.
Although much destruction has taken its toll in Eversong Woods, this place is mellifluous and tranquil. This is reflected in the music that accompanies Eversong's eternal autumn surroundings. The music begins with a calming harp, and a haunting undertone of elongated bells beckons in the background. A melancholy low 'cello follows on; expressing the desperateness of this race and its history. Whilst the base of the 'cello manifests itself within the music; it lingers behind the façade of a beautiful orchestral arrangement and a dense base of slow evolving synthesiser pads. This works together with the voices, which sound like the souls of those that have been slaughtered by the hordes of the undead.
