Tirisfal Glades. Home of my favourite race, The Undead. Delving into the deep lost history of the original 'vanilla' World of Warcraft would uncover the one character I ever had on this game but alas, he is long gone, but never forgotten.
The general atmosphere and scenery of Tirisfal Glades is instantly daunting and unsettling and I personally feel that the music sets it well. With no strong melody at all, the music has the opportunity to almost go in any direction, which gives a rather edgy feeling. The arrangement used is rather stereotypical but it suits the situation. The choir voices which occasionally make an appearance give out a eery feeling instantly. The use of plucked pianos and discordant tremolo strings help with the uneasy feeling suited with the location. The fact that there is no clear rhythm to this particular piece helps as well because not knowing when the music is going to remake an appearance helps give an unsettled feeling to the piece.
The original music of Tirisfal Glades plays its part very well. It suits the atmosphere, sets the tense feeling that comes with being in an environment full of undead creatures and plays a subtle but not overwhelming background to the region.
