Azshara is a beautiful coastal zone located in northeastern Kalimdor. Previously a night elf metropolis, Azshara is now a goblin-run zone after the disastrous events during the catayclism. After most of the area cracked and fell into the oceanic waves, the whole area was reshaped by the goblins into a Horde symbol after they were officially inducted into the Horde.
When you first arrive in Azshara, you’re hit with the increasingly loud horn crescendos that is backed by a strong and rhythmic percussive woodblock. These harsh sounds make you regret wandering so far into this spooky place. The percussion and brass begin to pull toward a slow ascending scale that eventually fades away.
As you venture north you can see a group of black dragons circling around in the harsh autumn sky. The booming brass bass line begins to return with the addition of chilling high-pitched strings and an airy howling flute. These slow yet unsettling sounds make you aware of the ferocious wildlife and enraged naga that inhabit these lands.
